Vanessa has been a part of the Colorado dance community for over 20 years. She has danced with many renowned dance studios in the Denver metro area and was a member of the Arapahoe Tom Toms in high school. Vanessa attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she graduated with a double B.A. in Sociology and Spanish and later earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Foundations, Policy and Practice. After graduating college, she danced professionally with the Motion Underground hip hop crew and contemporary company.

She began coaching at Peak Athletics in 2005 and along with her sister Molly, co-founded the Dance Stars team for athletes with special needs in 2008. Vanessa serves as the Stars Program Coordinator and is a member of the USASF Committee for Athletes with Special Needs. Vanessa is also a member of the Worlds Advisory Board and the West Regional Advisory Board for the USASF. Currently, Vanessa coaches the Sabers senior pom team, who have earned bids to The Dance Worlds in 2013, 2014 and 2015. At the 2014 Dance Worlds, Vanessa was recognized as one of the top four finalists for the USASF Dance Coach of the Year.

Vanessa is USASF accredited in both Pom and Hip Hop. As a hip hop choreographer, Vanessa’s choreography has won a National title, finished top three at The Summit, and has been a Finalist at The Dance Worlds.
